Professor Dornis speaks at the 21st Cologne Symposium on trademark and unfair competition law on the subject of "Artificial Intelligence and Unfair Competition Law".

The increasing use of AI systems in competition leads to far-reaching disruptions of marketplace activities. Not only will questions of transparency of AI use and functionality arise. In addition, courts and lawmakers have to deal with risks of personalized advertising and contract initiation by AI systems. As a closer look at the impending threats unveils, the current regulatory landscape may not guarantee consumer protection and private autonomy in a world of AI-based competition.
