The iLecture provides students the opportunity to state a question directly to the lecturer via an online interface, thus making the lecture more interactive. The idea originates from Prof. Dr. Dr. Salje who already uses the tool in his lectures.

IRI staff members implemented this idea by creating an online interface. The interface is available when the lecture proceeds so that students are able to ask questions with a web-enabled terminal device like laptops or smartphones. The question is submitted in real-time to the lecturer's laptop.

From then on, the lecturer can put the questions directly onto the screen in order to share it with the participants.

Thus, it will become much easier for participants of lectures with a lot of attendance to drop escapements and ask their question in front of a large audience. Moreover, questions from the back rows are accessible for the whole forum without any audible problems.
