In the tradition of the Rabel Journal, the articles comprising the Festheft are authored by Max-Planck staff and friends, many of whom previously studied under Professor Basedow. Professor Basedow's contributions in the field of private international law, procedural law, comparative law, uniform law, European private law and competition law reflect the wide spectrum of his research interests. Axel Metzger's article is on "Warranties against third party claims under Article 41, 42 CISG", an important area in international sales and intellectual property law.
